Exhibitor's Handbook Contest Winners Announced

Contests rock, especially when you win a prize.

Nineteen lucky fair exhibitors who participated in the fair’s new contest, “Find the Microphones,” in the 2008 Exhibitor’s Handbook, will receive prizes.

The first 50 people to enter an exhibit in the fair and correctly identify the exact location of the 7 microphones “hidden” in the handbook, were entered in a drawing for a chance to win fair admission tickets, fair T-shirts and carnival ride tickets.

The theme of this year’s fair is "Come Rock With The Flock," a salute to sheep, one of the county's top agricultural products. You can’t rock without a microphone, so microphones were used in this year’s contest. The 2008 Merced County Fair is July 15-20.

The following winners will each receive a fair logo T-shirt: Linda Hinshaw, Merced; Casey Barnes, Merced; Robert Barnes, Merced; Samantha Allen, Atwater; Megan Thiel, LeGrand and Nicholas Allen, Atwater.

The following winners will each receive two general admission fair tickets: Margie Treanor, Merced; Ruth Crawford, Mariposa; Katie Tyler, Merced; Angela Herrera, Atwater; Della Salas, Merced; Ida Ades, Atwater and Margaret Kohn, Merced.

The following winners will each receive six fair carnival ride tickets: Annie Tyler, Merced; Rosemarie Dick, Merced; Elaine Vallado, Merced; Matthew Thiel, LeGrand; Brennan Reyna, Merced and Maggie Beck, Merced.
