Remember Fair Exhibits Due July 5
By Diane Booth Conway,
Merced County Fair Communications & Marketing Director
It’s one of the most fun things to do at the Merced County Fair discovering where your entries are exhibited and counting up those red, white and blue ribbons.
But you won’t win any ribbons at the 2008 Merced County Fair if you don't remember to take your exhibits to the fairgrounds!
If you entered exhibits in the fair, don't forget that Saturday, July 5 is the day to bring them to the fairgrounds at 900 Martin Luther King Jr. Way. The deadline to submit fair entry forms is past.
Summer rocks and it wouldn't be summer without the Merced County Fair and the chance to see your arts, crafts, hobbies and other talents displayed at the annual event. “Come Rock With The Flock" is the fair theme and it will be a salute to sheep, one of Merced County's top agricultural products. The 117th annual fair is Tuesday, July 15 through Sunday, July 20.
There are a few exceptions but most exhibits must be received on July 5. Items will be accepted from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. for divisions including crafts and hobbies, clothing and textiles, preserved foods, fine arts and photography.
For more information about exceptions, call the fair office at 722-1507, check the exhibitors' handbook or refer to the handbook online at the fair's award-winning website www.MercedCountyFair.com
Regular hours at the fairgrounds office are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays. For information, call the fair office at 722-1507 or email to info@MercedCountyFair.com or fax at 722-3773.
