800 "Friends Helping Friends" visited Fair
More than 800 of our community’s special needs kids and adults – and some folks from local convalescent homes – came on a field trip to the fair the morning of July 17. They were treated to a behind-the-scenes tour, lunch, dancing and a mini-rodeo put on by a crew from the Rodeo and Bull Riding events.
Milk Producers' Contest Turns 50
A lot has changed in 50 years and thanks to the Merced County Fair’s Milk Producer’s Quality Control Contest for Grade “A” Dairies, the milk and other dairy products we enjoy today taste much better than they did in 1958. The contest, which is reportedly the largest of its kind west of the Mississippi River, celebrated its 50th anniversary event at the Merced County Fairgrounds. Read All About It and view photos of the event!
Faces of the Fair
"Faces of the Fair" is a behind-the-scenes view of the people who make the fair happen... Check out our recent story on Pat Kress!
